The complete stretch of the metro corridor from Whitefield to Challaghatta will commence operations from September 15. After safety inspections by metro rail authorities, the metro operations on this route are expected to begin from Friday.
K.R. Puram – Baiyappanahalli and Kengeri – Challaghatta sections are also likely to commence metro operations from September 15, according to BMRC’s Managing Director Anjum Parvez. He mentioned that they have been waiting for the safety clearance from the metro rail safety authorities to allow public transportation on these routes

The expansion of the metro route between Baiyappanahalli and K.R. Puram and Kengeri to Challaghatta will connect the eastern and western parts of Bangalore, offering more convenience to commuters. With the full metro route operational, BMRC expects the daily passenger count in our metro to increase from 75,000 to 100,000.

The 12.75 km stretch of the Whitefield – K.R. Puram route was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March before the Vidhan Sabha elections. Presently, an average of 30,000 commuters use the Whitefield – K.R. Puram route daily, making it beneficial for IT professionals as well. Connectivity to Baiyappanahalli Metro Station was established earlier, ensuring that the complete metro route will be operational soon.
